Pumpkin Spice Flavors Are Back In A Big Way
For all of you pumpkin lovers, you know it’s now fall and you’re psyched for one reason; no, I am not talking about candy corn or Ugg boots, I am referring to pumpkin spice flavored … everything (literally, everything).
When the whole fall pumpkin flavored thing first came about a few years ago, everyone was cool about it. Now people will give their first born child for a PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte, see what I am talking about? It even has a nickname now!), but that is the way in American culture, once something gains a little hype, we overdo it until it dies.
As you are walking through the aisles at the grocery store don’t you ever wonder how many food companies have pumpkin flavored something? It really feels like they have thought of just about everything pumpkin.
Here are some pumpkin flavored edibles that food companies have come up with.
For the Moderate Pumpkin Fans
1. Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte
Every fall coffee drinkers go crazy waiting for Starbucks to release their seasonally offered espresso drink, the pumpkin spice latte or PSL as the Starbucks’s regulars say. This drink will warm you up on a chilly fall day and has the perfect balance of spice and sweetness.
2. Thomas’ Pumpkin Spice Bagels
If the cool weather isn’t enough, pumpkin spice flavored bagels can make your mornings feel a little more like fall.
3. Coffee-mate & International Delight Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer
If you’re not into spending $4+ to get a pumpkin flavored coffee, you probably have a pumpkin spice coffee creamer in your fridge.
For the Pumpkin Lovers
These are for the pumpkin flavor lovers that want a little more than the typical pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks.
1. Eggo Pumpkin Spice Waffles
2. Quaker Pumpkin Spice Oatmeal
3. Krusteaz Pumpkin Spice Pancakes
4. Kellogg’s Pumpkin Pie Pop-Tarts
Those who want to take their breakfast foods to the next level, try these pumpkin flavored treats before class or work.
5. Talenti Pumpkin Pie Gelato
Adding this pumpkin pie ice cream on top of a piece of pumpkin pie would be the ultimate pumpkin overload. You’ll be taking that food coma to a pumpkin coma.
6. Nestle Toll House Pumkin Spice Morsels
I think adding these pumpkin spice morsels to oatmeal cookies or maybe muffins would probably be pretty good. It would be just enough taste of pumpkin without overdoing it.
7. Pillsbury Pumpkin Spice Cinnabon Rolls
These would be perfect for a pumpkin lovers’ Thanksgiving breakfast. Why not kick the day off with pumpkin, right?
For the Pumpkin Obsessed
For the people who just cannot get enough pumpkin spice in their lives.
1. M&M’s Pumpkin Spice Candies
Only the pumpkin crazed people enjoy these unique pumpkin spice flavored candies.
2. Oreo Pumpkin Spice Stuffed Yellow Cookies
The yellow vanilla cookie with an orange pumpkin spice flavored cream filling Oreo may not look too yummy with the florescent orange filler, but you pumpkin obsessed fans out there will probably find them delicious.
3. Kellogg’s Pumpkin Spice Frosted Mini-Wheats Cereal
Frosted Mini-Wheats are already a pretty good cereal, but pumpkin spice Frosted Mini-Wheats take it o the next level. I just couldn’t imagine how the leftover milk would taste.
4. Hershey’s Pumpkin Spice Kisses
These pumpkin spice kisses have a pumpkin spice cream-like filler inside the milk chocolate. If you just can’t get enough, try a few of these to satisfy your pumpkin craving. Or you can eat the whole bag at once, either way.
For the People Who Have Gone Mad … Who the H*ll Thought of These?!
1. Wrigley’s Extra Pumpkin Spice Chewing Gum
This one is the worst idea I have ever seen … pumpkin spice gum. Can you imagine wanting to savor this flavor all day? I can’t imagine what it would taste like when it starts to lose its flavor. I like lasagna, but I don’t want a gum flavor of it!
2. Kraft Jet-Puffed Pumpkin Spice Marshmallows
I am not too sure what you would use these pumpkin spice marshmallows for. Pumpkin spice s’more? No. Pumpkin spice hot chocolate? Gross. On the upside, they are shaped like little pumpkins.
3. Yoplait Pumpkin Pie Yogurt
People just cannot get enough pumpkin spice in their breakfast! Now they have pumpkin pie yogurt too. I think this would taste a little funny, but they also sell key lime pie flavor yogurt and people buy it. Who knows?
4. Burnett’s Pumpkin Spice Vodka
People say this one “gave white girl wasted a whole new meaning.” I mean you have to agree that is probably true. Not really sure how this would taste. Maybe in a mixed drink it would dull it down, but I cannot imagine taking this as a shot.
5. Peeps Pumpkin Spice Marshmallow Treats
Before I begin, I think Peep marshmallows are straight up gross, to me they taste like chemicals or something … just not marshmallows! Let’s say you do like the original Peeps on Easter morning, now think of those tasting like pumpkin spice.
Yeah … kind of made me gag too. Peeps are just going too far with this one, this is not where pumpkin spice belongs.
6. Planters Pumpkin Spice Almonds
Almonds are good. Pumpkin spice almonds on the other hand … I am not so sure about. Mixing pumpkin spices with nuts just does not sound very appealing.
7. Country Crock Pumpkin Spice Spread
Okay, this is a strange one also. Not really sure what you would use this Pumpkin Spice butter on … MAYBE a pumpkin spice bagel, but that is even pushing it. #PumpkinSpiceOverload
8. Jif Pumpkin Pie Spice Peanut Butter Whips
I honestly cannot think of a weirder combo. Peanut butter and pumpkin pie? What would you put this on to make it actually taste good? Does anyone want a PBPPS&J (Peanut Butter Pumpkin Pie Spice & Jelly)?
